Our stay at the Shangri-la Resort in Shangri-la City was magnificent from the time we checked in till our departure. The front desk attendant was patient in answering our questions and requests and made sure that our queries were well taken care of. The porter who escorted us to our room, took our luggage and gave us a thorough introduction to the hotel and its facilities - the warm welcome continued.Shangri-la City is at 3200m above sea level which can make many people feel unwell with altitude sickness, which affected my wife. The hotel caters for this by having an 'oxygen lounge' that is a room enriched with oxygen where guests can sit and relax whilst acclimating to the environment. The hotel rooms are well appointed with 5 star amenities. Furthermore, the hotel offers late check-outs when available and free transfers to/from the train station and airport.The hotel manager was attentive, responsive and went through extra mile to ensure we have a comfortable stay.In summary, we couldn't have asked for more.

​We had a fantastic stay at the Shangri-La resort and would highly recommend it!​From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel's grandeur and beautiful decor. Our room was lovely—it was well-decorated, clean, and so cozy. We especially loved the high-quality amenities and the stunning view of the mountains and town.​The complimentary breakfast was another highlight. There were so many delicious options, and we really enjoyed the variety. The staff were very attentive and always ready to help. While some didn't speak much English, we easily communicated using a translation app, and it was no problem at all.​One of the most thoughtful things they did was surprise a family member with a birthday cake and a card. It was such a special touch that really showed their incredible hospitality.​The resort is also in a great location. It was just a quick Didi ride to the ancient town, or a nice short walk if we felt like strolling. Plus, they even offer a convenient shuttle service to and from the airport or train station if you book it in advance.​Overall, we had a truly wonderful time and can't say enough good things about our experience!

The staff were really nice; however the room had a little bit of a smell when we were there. The windows also don't open all the way which didn't help with getting rid of the smell. The TV was located at a weird position on the wall, but the location of the hotel was pretty central to everything.

Lobby is very cold. Room lacked ventilation. Unable to control heat or cold. Staff could be friendlier. For a five star hotel, they had a hard time comprehending English.

Clean and amazing ambiance. service staff was good and helpful in suggesting places to tour.

the mini fridge in our room was locked! A suprise for a 5 star hotel. We called for them to open. But they didnt turn up. And we had to call again.Air cond was not cold in the roo,

The hotel had an excellent lobby and lounge area. The hotel room had a excellent view of the mountains. The hotel cultural ambassador Rose, provided an amazing milk tea ceremony and song. The hotel had free folk costumes to borrow.

The hotel facilities were disappointing. The lights were dim and there was a chill throughout the hotel. The bathroom was so dark, it was difficult to apply make up, everything was in a shadow. There was no fan or ventilation. Somehow the room window mechanism broke or was weak and the wind popped it open - this was fixed quickly. The most disappointing however was the breakfast. The restaurant was chilly, dark and boring. The food choice lacked imagination. It was hard to believe this was an international Shangri-la hotel. The food stations had rice noodles, congee and eggs staples but most other dishes sat untouched and cold. There was lots of staff. The place was organized but the vision was lacking, the simple things that reflect excellence or prove a wow factor were missing. This was a 3 star tour stop breakfast. This hotel was the only hotel in our multi-city Yunnan vacation that did not provide a personal response to our booking.com messages. We were sent advertising and advised to telephone the hotel. We relied on our Lijiang Hotel to call and ensure we had a taxi pick up at the train station. It was a free pick up service and very necessary for us. Difficult to arrange but much appreciated. Great driver.

Definitely the best hotel to stay when in Shangri La. The facilities were clean and staff were really friendly and helpful. They have good selection of breakfast and dinner.

The location was superb; 1.4 km from Dukezong ancient city and a short walk to the White Pagoda Temple and the bus stop to take Bus 3 to Songzanlin Monastery. Service was exceptional. We arrived at the resort at about noon and was immediately checked-in without hesitation. A staff offered to walk us to the nearby bus stop. When we asked to delay our check-out to 12.30 p.m the reception staff replied "Oh, you can even check-out later if you wish" The lobby was beautiful.Our Twin Room comes with 2 large beds and was so cozy.The buffet breakfast was great and has a wide variety.

Excellent staff, especially the front desk manager, Becky, was extremely helpful and professional.The breakfast buffet and lunch options were great too.

Breakfast and dinner buffet fantastic. Especially if you have been in the mountains for some days for hiking. Then it's amazing with all the good food:-)The service and staff did an amazing job. We had a Wonderfull stay.

The light in the bathroom is not so great. Except for this we don't have anything which could have been done different.

The reception is beautiful but for a Shangri—La, the rooms were not worth the money it costs compared to other hotels in the area.

The rooms were very hot… the air con could not be turned on. The shower was a basic shower and the hotel corridors smelt like cigarette smoke. it is not work the 3,000rmb per room price.

Shangri La was really cold this time of year. We switched hotels from somewhere freezing. Staying in Shangri la in Shangri la is a great option. On check in our room was upgraded to a room with a great view. it was lovely to watch the CNY fireworks from our room. Staff at this hotel are great they would top up our water (we needed lots of hot drinks to stay warm). I would recommend this hotel a lot.

The seating area in the lobby etc was pretty cool as was the restaurant.

Beautiful hotel, great breakfast with variety of options, sauna and gym, HBO, short walk to old town and Flying Tigers cafe.

Nothing; it was great. Just a note that we needed a negative COVID test within 48 hrs of our stay.

This is a very nice hotel with great facilities. it is very expensive, even compared to other Shangrila brand hotels.
